This tiny house project is one of the closest to my heart. To me it represents natural building at its best. Our client Joyce, gave us a great deal of freedom to design and build as I thought best. With only a general idea of her needs for the building, a rough idea of location, size, I was trusted to create as I thought best. I created a proposal, we agreed on a budget, and I got to work. We harvested the stone for the foundation from outcroppings in the woods, built the round wood timber frame with pines recently felled in an ice storm. The lumber for the roof was purchased at a sawmill down the road. The clay used in the cob walls was dug onsite.
